I want to thank you for visiting my website! I have been honored to serve in the Wisconsin state assembly in representing the Sheboygan area starting in January 2023. I want you each to know that listening to your concerns is my top priority. My goal has been and will continue to be that Sheboygan remains a wonderful place to raise a family, work, and retire. We want this to be a forever community that once you are a part of it you will always consider this area home.

Session Highlights

In this past 2023-2024 session cycle we have had some great accomplishments. The largest increase to shared revenue was passed benefitting every community across the state financially. Communities found many ways to spend the increase with much of it focused on police, fire, and EMS. I hope we all agree that community safety is true benefit.

Right To Read

Another great bi-partisan bill was signed into law known as the right to read act. This bill puts the future of youth and our communities back at the forefront of education. Together we can make sure the youth of today are strong community adults for the future.

Child Care

Child Care

Another success of this past session includes Act 101 which I authored in which families facing the high cost of child and dependent care can not only look to align the credit at 100% of the federal level, currently it was only 50%, but also increase from claiming $3,000 for one child to $10,000 and from $6,000 for two children or more up to $20,000. Unfortunately, the governor did not see the same tax relief need for families making $28,000-$150,000 or our treasured seniors. He continuously vetoed the tax bills for those members of our community.

Here are just a few other topics that are well on the way to positive outcomes for Wisconsin. The personal property tax was finally laid to rest. After decades of work, it has officially been retired bringing relief to all business owners. Large investments were made into assisting in the mental health of not only our youth, but our overall communities. Housing development programs and grants were passed to help across our state to provide new options at a time that the housing market is struggling to keep up with demand. Dental programs are being returned back into many technical colleges, while continuing to expand choices for dental care across the state. Finally, with the continued increased revenue Wisconsin is sitting on another large rainy-day fund. My goal is to return that money to hard working Wisconsinites and seniors.

Next Session Goals

Looking ahead I want to make sure that Sheboygan is and remains a great place to raise a family and that our local businesses thrive. It is important to work together to make sure we have strong schools for our children to attend no matter what the family preference is for their child’s education. Encouraging our community to support our local medical professionals who are involved in the daily lives of community members is another goal we must achieve in working together. I want to make sure that Sheboygan remains a safe community by supporting our police, fire, and EMS. All of our community members benefit from strong public works projects that keep our city clean and maintained for our locals and for those who make Sheboygan a tourist destination.
